Dora Thornton, curator of Renaissance Europe at the British Museum and Jonathan Bate, ┬áProvost of Worcester College, Oxford and internationally acclaimed Shakespearean, presented their new book Shakespeare: staging the world at the 2012 annual Hay Festival yesterday afternoon. Braving wind and rain, they delivered a unique and fascinating presentation on the early modern world, seen through the lens of Shakespeare’s plays, to hundreds of fans.
